European Maritime Day 2017

18 May – 19 May 2017
Poole, United Kingdom

Time for SUBMARINER Network at European Maritime Day!

Our bags are packed and we are ready to head to Poole, UK, for the biggest maritime stakeholder event of the year: European Maritime Day 2017! Come and visit the SUBMARINER Network in the exhibition area on 18 and 19 May, where we'll be joining forces with our partners at EurOcean to host a stand all about European networks building a blue society. We also invite you to take part in the SUBMARINER Network's interactive workshop “Towards a blue bioeconomy: from research to market” on 18 May at 13:30 - come and join us!

During the workshop, we shall explore the importance of the blue-green economy for innovation and growth in Europe’s regions. Focusing on on-going blue bioeconomy initiatives, we will discuss how transnational cooperation between various stakeholders can promote and support business development. Viewing blue bioeconomy from the perspective of regions, research and private actors, we can exchange knowledge in product and business development using current projects as a start-off point. This will, in turn, identify common points of interest and spark new ideas for future innovative initiatives.

Speakers at the workshop will include representatives from the implementation Strategy for the Blue Growth Agenda in the BSR, the Portuguese Blue Bio Alliance, the Scottish Association for Marine Sciences as well as from current SUBMARINER Network projects.

Come and join us for a thought-provoking and motivating workshop. The European Maritime Day Conference and Exhibition is held in Poole, UK, on May 18-19. We look forward to seeing you there!
