Southwest Finland preparing for the second half of the project implementation
In Turku (Southwest Finland), local Smart Blue Regions project team got together for a midterm review on 16th August.
The meeting was held at the Forum Marinum Maritime Centre. All participants had prepared a presentation on a current issue related to the project, including themes dealing with regional strategy work, smart specialization topics, circular economy and blue growth, international cooperation possibilities and communications. The best practices of other project partner regions were also discussed. Thanks to these discussions, local project team sharpened the strategic plans and goals for the upcoming months of the project. After a rewarding meeting, the team enjoyed an opportunity to visit the impressive dock area of Meyer Turku and the exhibitions of Forum Marinum.
The next day a stakeholder meeting with Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) was held at the Regional Council of Southwest Finland office. The goal was to learn about the topics and various projects of TUAS dealing with blue growth, but also to find new ways to make cooperation easier with the networks of the Regional Council and the Smart Blue regions project. The exchange of ideas was lively and the project team is looking forward to meeting other stakeholders at similar meetings soon.
