Smart Blue Regions: the first project development workshop in Gdansk

A Smart Blue Regions workshop dedicated to the development of a multi rotor system for wind turbines was held in Gdansk on 13th-14thAugust. It was the first of the workshops planned within the framework of the Smart Blue Regions project to support transnational innovative ventures that fit into the blue smart specializations of the Baltic Regions. So far, 20 topics for cooperation have been identified in the course of the SBR project.

The organizer of the workshop was the Maritime Institute in Gdańsk, supported by the Pomorskie Association in the European Union, both Smart Blue Regions project partners. It was attended by project initiators, Maciej Karczewski and Piotr Domagalski, and scientists and entrepreneurs from Germany (Arnoldus van Wingerde, IWES Fraunhofer), Great Britain (Peter Jamieson, University of Strathclyde) and Poland (Goetz Linzenmeier, Zbigniew Ziegert, Aluship Ltd.) together with Paweł Mawduk (independent consultant). The two-day meeting aimed to identify the interests of individual partners, detail the scope of the project and the preliminary development of a road map to apply for funds to finance its implementation.

The partners benefited from logistical and substantive support offered as part of the Smart Blue Regions project. They will take part in the project's final conference taking place in January 2019 in Berlin, where they will be able to present their venture more widely.
